In 2017 while searching for love online, Karen realized how unpleasant the superficial connections were on dating sites. With friends telling her to "get out and do things she liked,” she tried a variety of matchmaking events, including happy hours, cooking classes and food pairings. With her marketing and event planning background, she realized that these were great ideas, just poorly executed. With a little help and a little better planning, she decided that SPARK events could be events that people wanted to attend. And with a little SPARK, people could have the opportunity to make that true personal connection.   

Karen has more than 20 years of experience managing marketing functions at an executive level for a variety of companies. Karen holds a Masters in Business Administration from San Diego State University in California, and a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
